PostHeaderIcon Drag Me To Hell Review

Prior to watching the movie, I read some reviews and comments from different sites and blogs. In IMDB, it’s rated 8.1/10, from 8,696 votes. With such high rating, I had high expectations.

The movie is about Christine (Alison Lohman) as a loans officer who receives a curse from an old woman whom she just denied a loan extension. The curse of Lamia was said to disturb her for three days, afterwards she’ll ‘literally be dragged to hell’.

The next three days was hard for Christine because of her battle with the curse. Within this period, her background was relayed. Christine used to be fat as shown in a picture, but obviously got a way to conquer it, perhaps by using fastin or some other pills. The result was great though because she was able to attract the wealthy Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Her quest included engagement with different spiritual experts and several encounters with the wicked spirit. Towards the end, it seemed that she was able to overcome the curse, but a twist in the story was uncovered.

IMDB tagged this under Horror & Thriller. They must have forgotten another genre for this – comedy. There are some funny scenes in the movie, as proven by the constant laughter that surrounded the movie house. But the cause for most of the laughter is the unexpected loud sounds that surprised us and made us scream hard

I’m not a movie critic because I don’t look deep into details of execution. I base my judgment from the entertainment that the movie provides me. So for this movie, I give it a 7.
