Being fat really stinks. Unless you are one of those rare people that loves to struggle every morning when you button your pants, you know what I’m talking about.
The good news is that you are not the only one. Most adults today are overweight, or even clinically obese. And this problem seems to only be getting worse.
Have so many people always been overweight, or is this a recent phenomenon? If we take a look back in history, we’ll find that for the most part, people were slim and healthy.
People who lived a hundred years ago got a lot more exercise. Not because they loved working out every day, but because they had to. If they didn’t, they couldn’t earn any money.
Another reason is that they ate completely different food than we eat today. The food people ate a hundred years ago wasn’t filled with preservatives, and laced with chemicals. They hadn’t invented fast food yet.
It’s easy to see why they were so much more active than us. Today, most people have some kind of a desk job, and get little, if any exercise.
But why was the food so different? Well, for one thing, most of the food people ate back then was locally made or grown. Nowadays, most food is mass produced, and shipped and sold all over the world. Because of this, they need to fill it with chemicals to make it stay fresher, longer.
This is good if you are in the business of making and selling food, but is it good if you simply want to find something to eat that is healthy? Most likely not. The more you eat mass produced food that is laced with chemical preservatives, the harder it is to stay healthy.
Finding natural food, and getting enough exercise can be very difficult. Especially in today’s fast paced world.
Simply by being aware of what needs to be done, eating right, and exercising a little bit more, you can take control of your health. Because your life is so important, this is something that should become a priority.
